This all started for me in the 8th grade. My brother had learned to imitate Paul Lynde's voice. I was fascinated that he could do that. The next thing I know I am trying to do it too. It leads to my watching a show called CopyCats. This was a TV show where several imitators like Rich Little and others did imitations and skits. I had learned, by watching, in a short time, 79 different voices including dialects and characters. The highlight was during a school assembly I did a Jimmy Stewart imitation for a library award. After my turn on stage, one of the teachers asked me how I got Jimmy Stewart to record that for me? As I started to answer, my drama teacher cut in saying "That was all him"
After that I didn't play with the voices and characters much.  Still I had a burning desire to use my voice talents for something.  I turned to radio and became one of the top personalities in my area.  While in radio I took some acting classes and did some acting. Local film and some extra work mostly.
I also did some stage work and that's where "It's that Voice" got started.
It's 1982. I'm playing a co-starring role in a stage play. My character is speaking and ends his line. A quick moment of silence before the next line is spoken; just long enough to hear a well known producer say "It's that voice!"
I would hear those same lines over and over...whatever work I was doing.
A few years later, I'm speaking at a seminar explaining a marketing technique, the president of the company, a woman, stops me and says "Greg, the techniques are great....but it's that voice!" The rest of the audience agreed. The next thing I know I'm "that voice" for several companies.
